Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Over the past 2 weeks i have been sampling a few different Matcha green tea powders from Red Leaf Tea.
The 3 i received are:
eggnog flavored matcha,
caramel matchaccino,
and caramel flavored matcha.
With them came a pamphlet about what matcha is and other flavors available. Now you may be asking yourself...What is Matcha? according to their website, It’s a special green tea powder and the healthiest green tea on earth.
Opening the packets i received, i could instantly smell the matcha, the caramel ones actually smelled like someone was drizzling caramel right under my nose, no joke. However, the eggnog one smelled like vanilla, which i thought was odd because the eggnog i drink doesn't smell like vanilla..
ANYWAY, after reading the directions on how to make these, i carefully followed each step.. (there were like 3..) I noticed right away that the matcha didn't blend with the milk very well, it had chunks stuck in it that would not mix in, that is most likely because i didn't have a tea strainer, or a bamboo whisk, which apparently is a must whilst mixing to prevent clumps..MY B.
So after mixing for what seemed like an eternity, i decided to give up on the clumps and just go for it, drink the delicious smelling green liquid, Denise... They were totally NOT what i was expecting..at all. I was totally expecting this super strong caramel/eggnog flavor, and instead i got a slight hint of caramel/eggnog. The two caramel ones were delish! When i got to the eggnog one though, i had some problems. Unfortunately, it didn't taste like eggnog to me at all! in fact, i didn't much care for it, whatsoever. I would recommend the caramel ones, not so much the eggnog one. Which is slightly disappointing, because eggnog is delicious.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
